Why is my server null-routed?

Sago uses null-routes to block ip addresses that are causing offensive traffic or that are breaking United States law.

There are a few reason that a server will be null-routed:

Abuse Issue

We have an abuse department that deals with all of the nasty stuff on the internet: Spam, Child Porn, Hacking, DOS attacks, Phishing, etc.

If abuse detects any of these activities, you can be assured it will get detected and blocked until removed. If you have stuff like this to report, please email abuse@sagonet.com

If you have been null-ed for this reason, please read on for some advice on being unblocked.

IDS issue

At Sago we have an automated Intrusion Detection System that will automatically protect other servers by blocking malicious traffic. This includes IRC hacks, ssh brute force attempts, UDP floods, etc. If our IDS detects this activity, it will block you.

What to do if you are Nulled

You should immediately log into your server and inspect it for compromise. All servers have two IPs, you can use your other ip to Log in. If you cannot find out why your server is performing malicious acts, we can do a reinstall for you as a last resort.
